What’s on in Lincoln?

Lincolnshire

Lincoln is a cathedral city and county town of Lincolnshire, England. It is a very popular tourist attraction in the UK and with so much to do there is no wonder why. Here are just a few things you can do this summer...

This year the 7th annual Lincoln Comedy Festival will be taking place, with big name comedians coming to the city along with the best of the current crop of talent on the UK circuit. The festival is a celebration all things funny in the UK comedy scene, bringing a wide variety of styles, acts and both big and small names.

The Lincoln Comedy Festival will be taking place across the three main comedy venues in the city: Lincoln Drill Hall, Lincoln Performing Arts Centre and the Engine Shed, between the 2nd - 10th October. This year’s line up includes an award winning TV Sketch show, last year’s Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner, Mock The Week regulars, a new act competition heat, TV writers, a stage adaptation of a cult TV classic, Radio 4 performers, a family show and a packed weekend programme for you to enjoy.

The Lincolnshire Great Exhibition is also in full swing, where you can discover the heroes of Lincoln including Magna Carta, the birth certificate of Australia and other rare artifacts from around the world.

Rare items with Lincolnshire connections will be brought together - drawn from private, national and international collections - to celebrate the wealth that Lincolnshire has brought to the world. Featured Lincolnshire heroes will range from Hugh of Wells, who was at the Magna Carta signing at Runnymede, to John and Charles Wesley; Isaac Newton to Alfred Lord Tennyson; the explorers Flinders, Franklin and Sir Joseph Banks.

The Great Exhibition has been running since September and will be open until the end of September.

If you are in Lincoln this summer, why not discover Burton Waters Marina too?
